Creating a Balanced Approach to Clean Eating

One  important fact we need to keep in mind is that we are human and we are not perfect! Occasional slip-ups in our diet or training are going to happen. That’s life! It’s inevitable and is perfectly normal!  Life is about balance.

A healthy life means a balanced life..

Whether we’re conscious of it or not, we’re encouraged to fit into certain standards. Sometimes letting go and being flexible with your lifestyle may be more stressful than anything when you are trying to meet expectations. Do us a favor, and love yourself enough to be kind and give your body and mind a STRESS free break once in awhile!  If you have been on point with nutrition and training and your friends are going out  for margaritas on the weekend then you shouldn’t feel guilty for indulging in a little treat! Being social and having relationships is part of a healthy life! You have to be kind to yourself and by restricting every single food 24/7  your going to end up feeling trapped. After all, who wants to end up in knee deep in the freezer  binging on a pint of Ben and Jerrys?! Okay, well maybe that does sound like HEAVEN at times, but you get the point! Life is meant to be lived!  We say go out with friends, and have the cake the wedding this weekend. Memories are invaluable and it’s important to allow yourself flexibility.

Weekends EEK!!!

Relax means nothing without hardwork. When you are constantly food prepping, training and eating clean most of the time it’s a good idea to take it easy and give yourself rest! You deserve it! Rest is part of the muscle building process after all. Allowing yourself a cheat meal once or twice a week has been proven to be psychologically beneficial. It’s NOT going to completely throw you off track.

Other benefits!

Increase Leptin Levels

Combat Cravings

Increased hormone levels

Increased energy

Bottom line

A healthy lifestyle should bring positivity and bring you a sense of well being and happiness, not be a punishment or a chore! Ultimately food is fuel. It’s never a good idea to take part in emotional eating or deprive ourselves. Figure out a balance that will work for you.
